Where Can ISU Students Store Their Stuff Over Break in Pocatello?
Heading home for the summer, going home for a semester, or off to an internship? You don't have to haul everything with you. If you're an Idaho State University student, you can store your stuff at either of Intermountain Self Storage's two Pocatello locations: South Main at 1108 S Main St, Suite F, or South 2nd at 3960 S 2nd Ave. You can rent online in a few minutes, and with our 12 month rate lock, your price won't creep up while you're gone.
South Main or South 2nd: Which One Should You Pick?
Honestly, pick whichever one is closer to your dorm, apartment, or summer job. A shorter drive makes moving day a lot easier. Here's what makes each location a little different.
South Main
Like talking to a real person? South Main has on-site management, and the office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You'll find drive up units, swing door units, and ADA accessible ground floor units here. Give them a call at (208) 233-3696.
South 2nd
Prefer to handle everything from your phone? South 2nd is set up for that. Rent online, by phone, or with Touchless Rentals™, then pull right up to a drive up unit with a roll up door. Questions? Call (208) 232-8013.
What You Get at Both Locations
- A gated property with your own keypad code and security fencing
- Gate access from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, every day of the week
- Bright LED lighting, so evening drop-offs aren't a guessing game
- Drive up units, so you can unload right from your car
- Online rental and online bill pay
- A 12 month rate lock
How Much Space Do You Actually Need?
Most students land in one of three spots. Just boxes, bedding, a mini fridge, and a few odds and ends? A small unit should do it. Clearing out an apartment bedroom with a bed, desk, and dresser? You'll probably want a medium unit. Storing a whole apartment? Go with a large unit. Still not sure? Jot down your biggest items and call either location. They'll point you in the right direction.
When Should You Book?
Earlier than you think. Try to reserve a few weeks before finals. Units go fast at the end of spring semester, and booking ahead means you get the size you want. The good news: you can reserve online anytime, even at 1 AM after a study session.
A Few Packing Tips From Us
- Clean and dry your mini fridge, then leave the door cracked open.
- Pack books flat in small boxes. Your back will thank you.
- Take apart bed frames and desks, and keep the screws in a labeled bag.
- Label every box by room so fall move-in goes quickly.
- Snap a few photos of what you stored so you remember what's where.
Questions We Hear From ISU Students

Can I get to my stuff on the weekend? Yep. The gate is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day, weekends included.
Will my rate go up while I'm away? Not for a year. With the 12 month rate lock, your monthly price stays put.
Is there anything I shouldn't store? Leave out food, plants, and anything flammable, like gas or propane. Keep your laptop, passport, and important papers with you.
