Gated Entry

Yes, every Intermountain Self Storage location is gated. Renters enter with a personal keypad code, each property is enclosed by security fencing, and the gate is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. That means the people driving past your unit are fellow renters, not strangers.

How does gated entry work?

Each property is surrounded by security fencing with a controlled entrance. When you rent a unit, you receive a personal access code. Enter your code at the keypad, the gate opens, and you drive in. Without a valid code, the gate stays closed.

Why does a gate matter?

A gated, fenced property limits who can come and go. That helps discourage theft, trespassing, and vandalism, and gives renters more confidence leaving their belongings behind. It also keeps driveways clear of through traffic, which makes loading and unloading easier.

How can I keep my access code secure?

  • Do not share your code with anyone who is not on your rental account.
  • Shield the keypad with your hand when entering your code.
  • Do not let other vehicles follow you through the gate.
  • Contact the office right away if you think your code has been shared.

Is someone on site?

Our Chubbuck, Idaho Falls, and South Main Pocatello locations offer on-site management. Our team is happy to answer questions, help you choose a unit, and keep the property running smoothly.

Does every location have gated entry?

Yes. All five Intermountain Self Storage locations in Pocatello, Chubbuck, Blackfoot, and Idaho Falls feature gated entry, keypad access, and security fencing. Each one also has bright LED lighting to keep the property well lit after dark.

Who benefits most from gated storage?

Gated storage is a smart choice for anyone storing items of value, including family heirlooms, business inventory, tools and equipment, and seasonal gear. It is also a good fit for long-term renters who will not visit often and want to know the property is controlled while they are away.

What if I forget my gate code?

Call your location during call center hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the team can help you get back in. Have your name and unit number ready so they can verify your account quickly. To avoid a lockout, save your code somewhere secure on your phone.

How do I get started?

Pick the location closest to you, choose a unit size, and rent online, by phone, or with our Touchless Rentals™ process. Once your rental is complete, you will be ready to move in behind the gate.
